Friends, business partners, wine lovers, and Napa Valley devotees.
In 2022, the Edward Anthony team acquired the historic Chateau de Vie—a celebrated vineyard and charming manor house bed & breakfast—with a dream of expanding our curated portfolio of luxury hospitality experiences across Calistoga and St. Helena.
Rooted in deep heritage and nestled in storied soil, this special estate has long produced decadent Napa Valley wines—Cabernet Sauvignon that reflects both the richness of the land and the craftsmanship of generations past. We were honored to build upon this legacy, embracing its history while bringing a fresh vision aligned with the Edward Anthony lifestyle of authenticity, sophistication, and soul.
Our journey was further elevated through a serendipitous connection with winemaker Angelina Mondavi. Her creative spirit and winemaking lineage inspired us to steward these vineyards and bottle our own expression of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon—crafted from the vines of our beloved home at Chateau de Vie.
In 2024, the Chateau de Vie brand proudly expanded its portfolio to include a bright, expressive Sauvignon Blanc, a natural complement to our commitment to quality and distinction in Napa Valley winemaking.
Today, every bottle is a tribute: to the land, to tradition, and to the next chapter of Chateau de Vie.
Angelina Mondavi is at the forefront of a new generation of winemakers in Napa Valley. Born into a family that needs no introduction to wine lovers worldwide, Angelina began her career at the age of 10 assisting the lab manager at her family’s winery Charles Krug. After graduating from Villanova University with a degree in chemistry, Angelina gained invaluable experience working internationally in the Barossa Valley of Australia and earned a Master’s Degree in Oenology from the University of Adelaide’s Waite Campus. Upon her return to Napa Valley in 2007, Angelina continued her career by making wine locally and internationally for stalwart Napa Valley brands as well as hot new startup wineries. It was during this time that Angelina joined forces with her three sisters to launch Dark Matter and Aloft, two highly sought-after Howell Mountain wines. She currently carries the honor of serving as a director on the family’s company board for C. Mondavi & Family and is also their consulting winemaker, with a goal to continue the family legacy.
With more than 28 harvests under her belt, Angelina is not only one of Napa Valley’s premier winemakers, but she is also an incredibly wonderful person and friend. We are so honored to work with her as she continues to craft our Chateau de Vie Wines.
